Reporting to the Manager, National Catastrophe Claims, you will be responsible for handling and adjusting moderate to high complex claims.

The Senior Claims Advisor Property and / or Auto CAT will provide professional and respectful customer service, achieve optimal customer satisfaction, provide guidance to Claims Assistants.

and will work part of the National Catastrophe Claims team to successfully meet ACG and Claim Department performance requirements.

Accountabilities : Investigates, negotiates and settles claims of medium high complexity by telephone and written correspondenceInterprets insurance policy wordings, determines policy coverages and reservesDocument claim files with notes, evaluations and decision making processEnsures prompt and equitable settlement of medium- high complexity claims by following prescribed and recommended processes.

Process payments within established authority levels.Negotiates with insureds, claimants and insurersParticipate in the processes to identify, recommend and implement appropriate changes / enhancements to claim policies, practices, procedures and continuous improvement initiatives as requested by managerMeet the productivity, customer service goals and quality objectives specified for National Claims and disciplineCommunicate empathetically with customers and help them through their claim process in a fast, fair, and easy manner.

Negotiate claim settlements with customers in accordance with business unit standard methodologies.Participate in Queue Responsibility Qualifications : 3-5 years experience in handling medium to large loss complex residential property claims.

Post secondary education, diploma or certificationCIP Designation, or currently enrolled.Experience in adjusting single peril auto claims.

IICRC Certification, or enrollment.HAAG Certification, or enrollment.Ability to review, critique, and negotiate reconstruction estimatesProficient with Symbility and or Xactimate.

Stratum 1 Information Processing Capability.The ability to handle high volume of claims 125+ / - pending.Bilingualism considered an asset.
