Looking for Journeyman Heavy Duty Technician full time in the Acheson area.
- Must be able to perform maintenance on light, medium and heavy duty truck as well as trailers and off road vehicles. Some mobile in field service will be required.
- Must be able to perform maintenance and repairs including hydraulics on aerial devices (which include digger derricks, cranes, buckets) such as Altec and Palfinger.
- Must be a Journeyman Heavy Duty Technician with a minimum of 5 years experience on the above units.
- Minimum Class 3 drivers licence required with clean abstract.
- Must be CVIP Qualified for all vehicles / trailers.
- Required to have CUFC (Canadian Utilities Fleet Council) Utility Equipment Technician Training. Training can be provided if necessary.
- Proven mechanical abilities in hydraulics and electrical, including schematics and diagnostics.
- Ability to work independently.
- Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically and professionally at all times.
- Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
- Able to work well under pressure.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Basic computer skills necessary.
- 3 month probation
- $30-$50 per hour dependent on experience & qualifications.
Job duties include but are not limited to :
Adhere to workplace safety policies, regulations and compliance
Communicate any unsafe conditions or accidents / injuries in a timely manner
Diagnose defects in heavy duty equipment
Perform mechanical repairs on equipment in the shop and road calls when required
Electrical and hydraulic troubleshooting and diagnostics
Test repaired equipment for proper performance
Other mechanical repair work as required
Computer input.
