HEAVY DUTY MECHANIC

$30-45 / hr, Burnaby, BC

We are currently seeking a Heavy Duty Mechanic to join their service & repair team in Burnaby. They be will doing maintenance and repairs on large service truck modules, vacuum and airflow systems, water systems, & hydraulic systems on a variety of equipment : Sewer Equipment, Street Sweepers, Zamboni's, Garbage Collection Vehicles, and Street Flushers

The mechanic will be taking work under specific orders and time frames, within a team of 4 other technicians.

Need to be able to go out on the road - it won't be every week, but needs someone who is the dedicated person to be able to do this.

Job Requirements :

• Direct experience with street sweepers, zamboni's, garbage trucks, or street flushers
• 10+ years experience as a Red Seal
• Heavy equipment experience
• Class 3 with Air
• Knowledge on AC / DC converters
• Some welding (MIG steel or aluminum) for attachments / repairs

Why Work Here?

This is a tight knit shop, with 4 other technicians. It is a a typical dealership setting : parts, sales, & service. Mainly inside shop work, but some bays are outsides.

Dress code is coveralls (supplied), with Steel work boots (not supplied initially, but a $200 / year boot allowance is available after probation period once they go perm)

Shift : Monday - Friday, 8 : 00am - 4 : 30pm

$1-2 raises each year are common, but no guaranteed* Cost of living increase - Performance reviews in July and Wage review in August

60% in the shop 40% out roughly (could be 80 / 20)
