Manufacturing unique heat resistant alloys and high nickel / chrome alloys primarily for the petrochemical industries, Kubota leads the industry in quality and advanced technology.
As per customer requirements, Kubota designs and casts centrifugal pipes and static castings of fittings which are then machined, welded (Automatic, Semi-Automatic, Orbital & Manual) GTAW, GMAW, SMAW, followed by in house NDT (RT, PT, VT), in house DT, R&D lab, as well as hydro testing.
Summary :
Responsible for the general upgrade and repair of simple castings, fabrication of general or simple petrochemical assemblies using SMAW and or GTAW processes under the general direction of the area Supervisor.
Major Responsibilities (but not limited to)
- Read blueprints and understand interpret weld symbols in order to correctly set up, fit and weld components of general and simple petrochemical assemblies to accurate dimensions.
- Ensure a safe environment for workers, staff and visitors; ensure personal safety with the use of all required PPE and safe set up procedures.
- Train with use of jigs and fixtures to set-up and weld castings to ISO standards.
- Possess knowledge of safe material handling techniques and be conversant in the safe operation of material handling equipment.
- Perform other duties as required.
Education, Experience and Qualifications
- Minimum Grade 12 education required
- College or Technical Training an asset
- Certificate in ASME, CWB and TSSA standards is considered an asset
- Welding Apprenticeship Training an asset
- Minimum 2 years’ experience working in a Fabrication / Welding department within a Manufacturing environment.
Hourly Wage Rate :
$28.54 / hour (Current 2023 rate)
Shift Premium
Second Shift 3pm 11pm : $1.15
Third Shift 11pm 7am : $1.40
