About this Opportunity

BMG has an exciting opportunity at our Chester location (GN Thermoforming Equipment) for a Production Support Labourer who will primarily be responsible to provide cross-functional labourer support to Operations, or other Departments in the company as required.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Provides labourer assistance on various tasks and assignments in any department of the plant as directed. Tasks may include, but are not limited to : Shipping & Receiving, Stockroom / Warehouse activities, prepping of parts, drilling with hand tools, operating radial arm and drill press, bench work, basic maintenance activities, housekeeping, cutting material, sub-assemblies, building crates,
• Operates basic hand and power tools.
• Operates a forklift, pallet jacks, lifting devices and other manual handling equipment for movement of goods.
• Provides flexible team oriented support to other departments as required.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Follow all applicable safety procedures and policies as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
• Maintain good housekeeping in work areas.

EDUCATION / QUALIFICATIONS :

• A minimum of a high school diploma or GED.
• Six months of related experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with attention to detail.
• Able to operate a lift truck.
• Able to operate overhead crane.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Basic computer skills required.
• Working knowledge of ERP System is preferred

ENVIRONMENT / PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :

• Lift, push, and pull up 35 to 50 lbs. occasionally.
• Frequent bending, reaching, and lifting.
• Walk for extended periods of time.
• May work in seated or standing positions for prolonged periods of time, perform sustained manual activities at low to moderate levels of exertion.
• Must be able to access and navigate within each department at the organization’s facilities (i.e. climb stairs, ladders, etc.)
• Must be able to wear a respirator as required
