Position : Truck and Coach Technician
Location : Ontario
Required Hours : 6,720 hours
Overview :
We are seeking an experienced Truck and Coach Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and inspection of heavy-duty trucks, coaches, buses, and related commercial vehicles.
This position is ideal for an individual with strong technical skills in diesel mechanics, electrical systems, and vehicle diagnostics.
You will play a key role in ensuring that our fleet operates safely and efficiently.
Responsibilities :
Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues in trucks and coaches.
Perform routine maintenance and repairs including oil changes, brake inspections, and tire rotations.
Ensure all work performed is compliant with industry regulations and safety standards.
Maintain accurate records of repairs and maintenance work.
Collaborate with team members to ensure timely and efficient service delivery.
Provide excellent customer service and maintain positive relationships with clients.
Stay updated on new technologies and repair techniques in the trucking industry.
Requirements :
Experience : Minimum of 2-4 years of experience as a truck and coach technician or in a related field, with hands-on experience repairing and maintaining commercial vehicles, buses, or heavy-duty trucks.
Technical Skills : Strong knowledge of diesel engines, mechanical systems, hydraulic systems, and electrical systems. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and vehicle diagnostics.
Certifications : Completion of a formal apprenticeship program or related post-secondary education is preferred. Industry certifications (e.
g., Truck and Coach Technician Red Seal , ASE certifications) are a plus.
Problem-Solving Skills : Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex mechanical and electrical issues quickly and efficiently.
Tools & Equipment : Proficient with a wide range of diagnostic tools, hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment required for maintenance and repair tasks.
Safety-Oriented : Strong understanding of safety protocols, both in the workshop and when working with heavy machinery, including proper lifting techniques and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Physical Stamina : Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, including standing, lifting, and crouching for extended periods.
Communication : Good verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to document work and explain technical issues clearly to both customers and team members.
Driver’s License : Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. A commercial driver’s license (CDL) is a plus but not required.
