Job Description
Scope of Position :
The Senior Project Engineer isresponsible for developing and implementing manufacturing process technologies.Activity includes applying Injection Molding experience and training toimplement Quality improvements, Capacity expansion and Cost Reduction Projects.
Works closely with R&D, Quality and manufacturing locations to implementthese manufacturing technologies.
Key Responsibilities :
Define requirements for injection molding processes and automation, from concept evaluation through commercialization.
This requires creating molding specific documents / procedures.
- Develop specifications for part design, molding machine settings, operating procedures, acceptance and validation test plans and protocols.
- Provide technology input to guide product development and design for manufacturability.
- Cooperatively advises and directs activities of vendors and plant technicians to accomplish project objectives.
- Demonstrates complete understanding of a wide application of technical principles, theories and concepts in a manufacturing process technology.
Has general knowledge of other process technologies. Provides technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems.

- Communicate, coordinate and execute tool design and injection molding process development activities including tooling validation into manufacturing locations.
- Works with cross functional team to investigate & implement solutions to major manufacturing issues.
- Must be able to develop and execute validations protocols
IQ, OQ, PQ), engineering studies and design of experiments.
- Successfully manages projects to from design, prototype, and build through commercial launch. Required to initiate, plan, execute, monitor, control, and close these projects efficiently.
- Needs to be able to lead cross functional Teams to successfully define, build and validate mold build programs
- Develops specifications and acceptance protocols to purchase production injection molds.
- Manages vendors in the design, development and implementation of injection molds.
- Applies six-sigma and lean manufacturing methodologies to optimize injection molding processes.
- Develops processes by designing and / or performing experimental testing, data analysis, preparation of reports, and providing recommendations.
- Provides input into project technical strategy.
Key Qualifications :
- BSc. Engineering
- Strong technical background in plastic manufacturing operations including aspects of quality, safety, machine operations, trouble-shooting and output.
- Knowledge of lean principals and process optimization
- Keen skills in problem solving, lean manufacturing, and project management
- Solid understanding of plastics extrusion and / or injection moulding manufacturing processes.
