CAN-ENG is a vibrant, medium-size Canadian company located in Niagara Falls Ontario with an international reputation for the design and manufacture of thermal processing equipment and associated material handling devices.

To maintain our continued growth we require additional staff in key positions.

ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING PROJECT LEADER

Successful candidates must be able to lead and motivate a design team in the completion of projects that meet or exceed the customer’s expectations, within the budgeted time and cost.

Responsibilities for projects begin at the pre-sales stage and continue into field commissioning.

Duties include :

  • PLC / HMI selection, programming and troubleshooting with a strong understanding of industrial networks and associated components (AB, Siemens, Ethernet, ProfiNet / ProfiBus etc)
  • Automation controls integration experience with highly automated equipment.
  • Robot Programming, Vision Systems and Reach Study experience considered an asset
  • Variable Frequency Drive selection & integration; process controllers, field sensor selection
  • Sub-contractor liaison and report writing
  • Project planning & scheduling
  • Familiarity with Canadian and or American Electrical Codes
  • Preparation & checking of engineering system drawings in the following areas of design Power distribution, single line diagrams, bills of materials, control panel layouts and system interconnections.
  • Specification writing & material demand releases
  • Experience with CAD design software such as AutoCAD or EPlan considered an asset

Applicants should be willing to travel to the field periodically to assist in install or commissioning of his / her projects.

Qualifications for the position are :

  • One of : Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a three year Engineering Technology diploma
  • Strong verbal and written communications
  • Outstanding team working and organizational skills
  • Practical understanding of cost benefit analyses, equipment maintainability and operability
  • Creativity and flexibility to adapt to constantly changing requirements
  • Eligibility to hold a Canadian passport and able to travel the world
  • Valid un-restricted driver’s license
  • Familiarity common core business software(s) such as Microsoft suite of products
