Key Accountabilities
Service onboard vessels with KM SystemsTroubleshooting via phone and email support linesExecute service assignments as requested by the customerTimely and accurate completion of service reports, timesheets and expense reports following service assignments per Work OrderProduction and updates to as‑built documentationDevelop own qualifications through internal / external training coursesSupport sales and marketing with technical informationInterface with customer and internal engineering groupsWillingness to travel up to 50‑70%Qualifications And Experience
Degree in Electrical, Electronics, Electromechanical, or Computer Engineering or equivalent industry / military trainingKnowledge of general electrical / electronic control system concepts such as PID controllers, filters, communication protocolsProvide preventative and corrective maintenance to Kongsberg control systemsRead and interpret drawings and control system architecturePC competency (networking, troubleshooting, module modification)Use of a multimeter / SW tools for troubleshooting communication or loop errorsUnderstanding of power management systems, generators, and governor control functionality for generators and main enginesAC / DC electrical motorsAble to add or modify control logicFamiliar with communication protocols (CAN, 232, 422, 485, TCP / IP, etc)Complete and submit timesheets and expenses in a timely fashionOwnership over assigned cases and / or service tripsSuggest improvements to our products and report needs to Service Manager or product departmentMake proactive suggestions to customers on available upgrades and new products while visiting onboardCarry out actions to prevent errors within our delivery and after sales deliveriesSupport aftermarket sales with aftersales quotationsBasic Qualifications
Degree in Electrical, Electronics, Electromechanical, or Computer Engineering or equivalent industry / military trainingAbility to produce and interpret technical documentationAbility to troubleshoot low voltage electrical components, use of multimeters, etc.Experience with PLC / SCADA systems and their architecture is highly desiredAble to work under pressureGood communication skills and fluent in English (French a benefit)Microsoft 365 package user levelHold valid passportAuthorized to work in CanadaAssist in workshop projects as requiredAvailability to travel with short notice, after hours, holidays / weekends, for long periods both locally and internationallyYou Are Able To
