POSITION PURPOSE Reporting to an experienced paramedic preceptor, you will be participating in York Region’s premier field placement site for paramedics.
PCP Pathways is a field placement program designed by paramedics, for paramedics with the intention of helping you to be as prepared as possible when it comes time to start your paramedic career.

- Learn about various units and teams within York Region Paramedic Services, including our Special Response Unit and Community Paramedicine Unit
- Gain familiarity with ambulance operation by spending time with our ministry-certified driver trainers
MAJOR RESPONSIBLITIES :
- Learn how to handle real-life emergency situations in the pre-hospital environment
- Attend 12-hour shifts on an ambulance, as often as permitted by college schedules
- Participate in Pathways Rotational Blocks - (typically one additional educational commitment monthly)
- Maintain all certification requirements
- Complete administrative duties as required for timekeeping
QUALIFICATIONS :
- Currently enrolled on a full-time basis in a post-secondary paramedic program at an Ontario college.
- Valid Ontario Class G licence as of May 1, 2024
- Police Vulnerable Sector Check
- Valid Standard First Aid and Basic Life Support
