Junior Graphic Designer

Since we started in 2004, we’ve expanded from Toronto to California and England by being driven by design and refusing to deal with the vanilla -loving multinationals.
In this role you will work under our Senior Graphic Designer / Senior Studio Artist to implement the creative vision and design aesthetics of our Creative Director into actual reality for use in packaging design, new product development and advertising campaigns.
You will take direction from our Senior Graphic Designer to shoot and collect all photo and video assets, organize / prep assets for implementation across all web platforms, prepare email marketing assets, collect and prepare assets for social media, design product packaging given very specific direct and also assist with a small amount of web design (mainly photo uploads to our AWS S3 bucket).
Here are the skills that will make you the ideal candidate :
- You have a bachelors in graphics design or years of equivalent studio environment experience.
- A willingness to learn advanced skills from our Senior Graphics team and grow.
- Be comfortable working on 10 jobs simultaneously with 1-6 month deadlines.
- Full Adobe Jedi. Must have proficient knowledge of all things Adobe.
- AWS S3 Photobucket functionality knowledge is a big plus.
- Klaviyo email marketing knowledge is also a big plus.
- General knowledge of Shopify functionality is a huge plus.
- Highly organized.
- Adept using Gmail and other web based applications
- Strong time management and project management skills.
- Ability to take direction from the Senior Graphics Designer and Creative Director + demonstrate the ability to work fast with high attention to detail.
- Willingness to ask the questions right away when something is not understood completely.
- Packaging design experience is plus, but not required.
- Strong Photography background is 100% a must since this will be a large part of the job.
- Basic video editing is a plus, but not required. Must have a willingness to learn.
- Ability to take constructive feedback about projects and implement changes.
- Comfortability in communicating with overseas partners to make sure designs are understood and executed properly for manufacturing.
This is an in office job in the Queen and Spadina area because we all genuinely like each other and working remote has been so boring!
