Location : Eastern Ontario, ideally living within a one hour drive of Ottawa; remote office with in-person meetings in Ottawa required 5-10 times per year.

About the Job
Our Finance team is growing! We’re searching for a collaborative and tech savvy Director of Finance . In this newly developed role, you’ll be an integral part of the senior management team and will manage a team of one full-time staff and one contracted bookkeeper.
The Finance function is currently overseen by a virtual CFO resource who will support a smooth transition and then exit the organization.

Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all aspects of financial management for EnviroCentre, including budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting.
- Collaborate with the management team to advance strategic and operational priorities with robust financial analysis and insights while ensuring the ongoing financial sustainability of EnviroCentre.
- Manage and mentor the accounting team and provide financial leadership to the organization with a spirit of respect, integrity, and collaboration.
- Lead the development of the annual budget and quarterly forecasting.
- Produce accurate and timely financial dashboards, reporting and analysis to ensure reliable and relevant financial insight to support decision making.
- Manage and report on cash flow to meet operational requirements.
- Maintain or implement robust policies and processes ensuring appropriate internal controls are consistently applied and regularly reviewed, recommending changes to policies and processes when appropriate to meet current and future organizational needs.
- Oversee day-to-day accounting including monthly balance sheet review, variance analysis and account reconciliations.
- Oversee inventory management, procurement and invoicing processes. Develop and maintain effective relationships with a broad range of external stakeholders, including financial institutions, funders, and contractors.
- Ensure compliance with provincial and federal legal requirements including HST, EHT, payroll remittances and other reporting requirements.
- Lead the annual external audit process.
- Support risk management across the organization including annual insurance risk mitigation.
- Support the finance and audit committee with financial reporting and analysis.
Skills & Experience
- CPA designation preferred, University or college degree or equivalent professional experience required.
- 5+ years in a comparable role in a growing and fast-paced work environment.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with an orientation towards collaboration and teamwork.
- Technically savvy with advanced Excel skills and a high degree of proficiency in QBO and cloud accounting tools, with the ability to quickly adapt to new and complex software.
- Keen analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills.
