Our valued financial client is seeking a Senior Java (Spring) Developer to provide coding, testing, and third-level application support for a highly-available, mission-critical, full-stack Java application!
1-year contract (% Remote EST). 7.5 hours per day, Monday to Friday. On-call and overtime work will be required throughout the contract - on-call will be required once every 6-8 weeks as part of a team rotation.
Responsibilities :
- Support large project initiates, as well as smaller initiatives and bug fixes
- Code in Java in a full stack application, with a significant Oracle Weblogic and Oracle database components
- Work with scrum team and complete tasks that are assigned to them
- Provide third line support for the application once sufficient knowledge of the product has been gained
Must Have Skills :
- 5+ years of experience in a Java development environment, utilizing Spring framework (Spring Core, Spring MVC, Spring Integration, Spring Security and Bean Validation)
- Demonstrated experience working with WebLogic server development and configuration
- Demonstrated operational experience in maintaining a high availability system
- Demonstrated experience working in a financial, banking , and / or capital markets environment
- Demonstrated experience in web graphical user interface (GUI) design and development as well as web technologies, especially Thymeleaf, Angular, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Ajax / JQuery
- Test Driven Development (TDD) and tools such as Junit and Mockito and Arquillian testing framework
- Demonstrated relational database skills (SQL), including experience with writing stored procedures and PL / SQL using tools such as SQL Plus / SQL Developer
- Hands-on experience analyzing and optimizing code and performance tuning across application layers as well as providing production support of a critical application.
Nice-to-have Skills :
- Demonstrated knowledge of Scrum methodology and participation in all phases of the iterative process
- Demonstrated experience working with Oracle database components
