Position Description
SUMMARY / PURPOSE :
We are looking for a leader to oversee and liaise with various Indigenous organizations, industry partners and government agencies.
The role focuses meeting the commitments for the indigenous participation plan. Engage with indigenous communities and organizations, create indigenous benefits / participation plans, establish indigenous business arrangements and other related activities as required for business development strategies.
This individual will develop strategies and plans for partnerships / teaming arrangements with Indigenous organizations and community-based groups.
They will also Ensure compliance with all Serco Canada Inc. policies and procedures, including but not limited to Code of Conduct and Ethics, Serco Management System
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Develop, facilitate, implement and monitor Indigenous Benefits / Participation Plan and Diversity and Inclusion strategy
- Provide recommendations on specific Indigenous organizations or groups that may be best suited to bring specific capabilities and / or geographic coverage in support of broader Serco operational requirements
- Develop and execute actionable plans to engage / retain specific Indigenous groups to service delivery.
- Training / mentoring / working with co-workers on Indigenous awareness.
- Develop and implement an Indigenous recruitment and retention Strategy in support of our Eastern Ontario operations, business development initiatives and procurement strategy
- Develop relationships with various levels of government and Indigenous Organizations through regular personal contact and meaningful engagement.
- Support the design, development, delivery and management of diversity, GBA+, Social Procurement and Employment Equity initiatives.
- Assist with recruitment of Indigenous employees through contact with Indigenous groups and Indigenous employment registries.
- Liaise with the relevant Indigenous groups to identify employment strategies, training opportunities, internships, or work placements.
- Ability to lead workshops with various stakeholders and perform benefits mapping
- Collaborate with the Program Management Office and the Indigenous Business Centres to promote Indigenous business communication and opportunities.
- Other related duties relevant to this position as may be required.
Qualifications
EDUCATION / CERTIFICATIONS :
- Extensive experience working with Indigenous groups and knowledge of Indigenous cultures is required.
- Post-Secondary training in Indigenous issues, human resources and / or business or an equivalent combination of related education and experience.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with excellent active listening skills.
- Excellent computer skills in MS Office Suite.
- Possess a valid Class G Driver's License and ability to travel as required (up to 25%)
- Ability to obtain and maintain Secret Level II security clearance is required is required.
