The Opportunity

Reporting to the Manager of PICU, the Ward Clerk performs a variety of reception and clerical duties required for the efficient operation of the unit.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to : data entry, including database entry; ordering and maintaining supplies;

required transport functions; answering phones; placing calls to staff as required and payroll duties as required.

Hours of Work

Rotating 12-hour shifts, 24 / 7 coverage

Your Qualifications

• Minimum High School Diploma or GED required
• Completion of a recognized Office Administration Program preferred
• Data entry skills required
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and other computer programs / technology (testing may be conducted on candidates)
• Knowledge of Meditech preferred
• Proven team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills required
• Demonstrated ability to respectfully work with a variety of inter-professional team members required
• High degree of initiative, diligence, attention to detail, and self-discipline / focus
• Commitment to continual learning and willingness to share knowledge and support the development of co-workers
• Demonstrated commitment to Family Centered Care required
• Excellent multi-tasking, organizational, and prioritization skills required
• Knowledge of medical terminology is an asset
• Competencies in other languages an asset
