Applied R&D (AR) consists of target-oriented research either with the goal of solving a particular problem / answering a specific question or for multi-discipline design, development, and implementation of hardware, software, and systems including maintenance support.
Supplies techno-economic consulting to clients. AR work is characterised by its detailed and complex nature in order to systematically combine existing knowledge and practices to further developing and incrementally improving products, operational processes, and customer-specific feature development.
Subfamily Description
Eletromechanical Design (EDE) consists of mechanics, thermal, interconnections, Power Supply Unit (PSU), Printed Wiring Board (PWB) layout design, and HW usability.
EDE requires innovative design knowhow to design electromechanics parts to Base Transceiver Station (BTS) module, units, etc.
Design targets are high quality, easy installability, and reliability products with low costs.

Work with customers (remotely / onsite) for requirement gathering and project deployments
- Create method of procedures (MoP) and detailed design-build documentation (LLD), implementation, operational, and acceptance test documentation (ATP).
- Deliver product upgrades, migrations, and installations (remotely / onsite).
- Adhere to and contribute to the team's best practices and continual improvement initiatives.
- Develop and deliver customized workshops and technical training to customers.
- Working closely with PLM and Support teams to manage solution issues and product evolution.
- Set customer expectations before and during project implementations.
- Work with Technical Designers, NPI engineers, Integration engineers, and other project team members.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will require a strong all-round technical background, along with communication and presentation skills, and will have the knowledge and hands-on experience in some or all the following areas :
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Telecom or Software Engineering
- Strong skills with Linux / Unix, Solaris, Red Hat, CentOS
- Strong knowledge of hypervisor technology (KVM, ESXi)
- Knowledge of Cloud Computing concepts and platforms such as OpenStack
- Knowledge of Network Management & API concepts and protocols such as NETCONF, YANG, OpenFlow, SNMP, REST, XMPP, JMS,
- Good Knowledge of IP Networking, Routing, Services Topology : IPv4 and IPv6, BGP, LDP, ISIS, OSPF, MPLS, VPLS, VPRN, IP VPN, QoS, Security
- Software development educational background & experience : Object-Oriented Design and Analysis, Java programming language, Perl, Python, Javascript, JMS, C++ Programming, JBoss application server, Internet-based applications using XML, HTTP / s, SOAP, RESTful
- Knowledge of Software Defined Networking & Network Function Virtualization concepts
- Experience in consulting and providing project services directly to external Customers or Consultation, Deployment Design, Testing, and Customer Acceptance
- OSS integration experience
