We are looking for an Avionics Engineer to provide technical avionics technical expertise in support of all electronic and electrical designs and systems.
within aerospace and defense.
Salary range : $64,000 $79,000 + 100% employer-paid benefits and RRSP matching program after 3 months
Schedule : Monday to Friday, 7 : 00am start
Responsibilities :
- Locate technical information regarding flight operations, aircraft electronic and electrical systems, and applicable Transport Canada and / or FAA avionics regulations
- Develop technical orders (TOs) to direct technical repair activities on a customer’s aircraft, interpreting mechanical, electrical and electronic drawings, producing electrical CAD drawings and following all engineering policies and procedures
- Make appropriate modifications to technical applications, designs, specifications and requirements
- Provide original and modified avionics and electrical designs for existing aircraft systems and / or designs for new installations
- Write and interpret aircraft electrical specifications
- Ensure that all modifications are approved by Transport Canada and the FAA
- Monitor and direct the use of avionics calibration test equipment, and train technicians in its proper use
- Interpret the test equipment needed to perform a given task
- Determine where to purchase or rent appropriate test equipment
- Be familiar with safety and security policies and procedures and ensure that all workplace behavior complies with these policies and procedures
- Perform other duties as required
Qualifications :
- Degree / Diploma in Electrical / Avionics Engineering or Technology
- 3-5 years’ experience in aircraft Electrical / Avionics engineering
- Excellent communication skills : verbal and written
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of Engineering principles
- Knowledge of project management fundamentals
- Knowledge of Global Positioning Systems (GPS)
- Knowledge of Traffic Collision Avoidance System (TCAS II)
- Knowledge of digital instruments, digital communications and high-level navigation systems
- Must be Canadian residents or permanent residents
