Sr. Business Project Manager to support Operational and Process Enhancement projects for the Group Disability LOB for a large insurance client -

Duration : 6 months (possibility for extension)

Location : Remote (preferred - Waterloo, Montreal, Ottawa, downtown Toronto)

The Group Disability Business Only Squad is part of the Canadian Ops GB Service Platform and provides program and project management services, business analysis and support services to the Canadian Operations and Group Benefits organizations.

Must Have Skills :

  • 5+ years of experience as a Project Manager working with Operational and Process Enhancement projects.
  • Experience with Group Benefits
  • Experience with Office suite focusing on Tableau, Miro, Visio, MS Excel, MS Project, and PowerPoint
  • FI / Insurance experience

Job Responsibilities :

  • Provide leadership in the delivery and execution of all phases of assigned projects from initiation to closure, managing timelines, budget and scope for multiple concurrent projects
  • Effectively communicate with and present to project leadership and sponsors / stakeholders (including senior leaders) to gain buy-in, facilitate decision making and promote confidence in the ability to deliver
  • Develop comprehensive project plans that align scope, time, cost, quality, resources and risks with on-going monitoring of project execution for any deviations from the plan, invoking corrective action and contingency plans where necessary
  • Motivate, engage and focus efforts of multi-site project teams by providing clear direction, ensuring access to required tools and removing barriers as necessary
  • Build and maintain detailed schedules and RAID logs, proactively managing risks / issues while effectively leveraging the change control process and escalating for support and awareness as appropriate
  • Play a role in organizing, attending and facilitating project workshops with diverse group of stakeholders
  • Ensure that appropriate processes and techniques are being leveraged by project teams, identifying any necessary training or support required
  • Ensure all projects have appropriate level of governance and are executed with demonstrated alignment to Sun Life project execution standards and practices
  • Ensure successful and seamless transition of projects to Operations upon project completion
