What you'll be doing
- Conduct clinical assessments, comprehensive evaluations and prepare treatment plans
- Integrate psychosocial assessments into the team's treatment planning
- Facilitate recovery management and psycho-educational group sessions; facilitate groups at the clinic during day time and facilitate recovery management groups during the evening.
- Provide individual counselling sessions in support of specific treatment needs and goals
- Deliver EFAP services including confidential counselling, case management, direct clinical services and assessments
- Actively collaborate with the clinical team in assessments, client reviews, treatment planning, therapeutic interventions and discharge planning
- Establish and maintain effective and collaborative working relationships with all clinical and program stakeholders
- Ensure continuity of care is maintained through the transfer of information including outreach to the client, family members, physician, team members, other service providers and client personal support network, utilizing client informed consent processes
- Identify and plan for discharge needs including coordination of referrals to appropriate community resources and outpatient counselling
- Supervise students, interns and non-regulated support personnel as appropriate
What we're looking for
- Master's degree of Social Work, Counselling or Psychology
- Registration with applicable regulatory College
- Three years' post-degree experience with group and individual psychotherapy
- Expertise in short term solution focused counselling
- Demonstrated experience in treating trauma, stressor related disorders and concurrent psychiatric and substance use disorders
- Knowledge of standardized and non-standardized assessments
- Experience with integrating case conceptualization model within trauma services
- Knowledge and application of relevant mental health acts and community resources
- Assessment of group dynamics and facilitation skills for group therapy
- Service specific training such as wellness education, issues related to childhood trauma and sexual abuse, Psychosocial Rehabilitation, Recovery, CBT, CPT, DBT, CPR, Mental Health Act, PHIPA, Ontarians with Disabilities Act 2005, Health Care Consent ACT
- Knowledge of concurrent addiction disorders for specific addiction assessment tools
- Strong organizational, time management and presentation skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
- Exceptional communication and customer service delivery skills
- Demonstrated success working independently as well as contributing actively to team objectives
