Status : Contract
CASA House is a live-in program for teens who need support with significant mental health and / or addictions challenges.
Teens stay at CASA House for an average of four months. The program involves parents and caregivers as active participants in treatment.
Treatment includes individual, group and family therapy, social and life skills training, and on-site schooling in small classroom settings.
The Registered Dietitian will :
- Provide comprehensive nutritional assessments that include medication-nutrition interactions, diagnostic findings, specialized reports and patient history.
- Develop and implement individual patient-centred health plans.
- Provide information and education on healthy nutrition and chronic disease management.
- Participate in the development of nutrition and healthy lifestyle resource materials.
- Act as a resource and provide support to CASA House team members.
- Develop a nutritionally adequate and cost-effective menu plan, providing recommendations and implementing changes as required.
- Help identify evaluation measures and outcomes.
- Ensure the collection of evaluation and quality data.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of science with a major in foods and nutrition.
- Completion of an internship program accredited by the Dietitians of Canada.
- Active or eligible for registration with the College of Dietitians of Alberta (CDA).
- Minimum of two years of experience as a clinical pediatric dietitian.
Conditions of Employment
- A satisfactory Criminal Records Check with Vulnerable Sector Search and Child Intervention Check. This would be the financial responsibility of the successful candidate.
- Proof of COVID-19 vaccination or exemption on the basis of a protected legal ground.
- Ability to pass and maintain Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) certification (training provided by CASA), as well as physical ability to perform all interventions.
