Base pay range : CA$55.00 / hr - CA$70.00 / hr

As a Frontend Performance Engineer, you will ensure fast, smooth experiences across web, iOS, and Android by defining performance budgets and monitoring key metrics. You’ll analyze real‑time and synthetic data, troubleshoot bottlenecks, and collaborate with product and engineering teams to optimize page and app responsiveness. Your work will include improving caching, asset delivery, and implementing performance testing using tools like Lighthouse, WebPageTest, and platform profilers. Additionally, you’ll drive best practices, automation, and performance‑focused CI / CD processes to elevate overall quality.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to defining and maintaining performance budgets and KPIs for web, iOS, and Android.
• Monitor real‑time and synthetic performance data to spot issues, trends, and opportunities for improvement.
• Support troubleshooting and root‑cause analysis for performance slowdowns across frontend, backend, and network areas.
• Partner with product and engineering teams to build efficient web pages and mobile screens that load quickly and feel smooth.
• Improve caching, content delivery, and asset‑loading approaches across digital platforms.
• Perform performance testing and profiling using tools such as Lighthouse, WebPageTest, Xcode Instruments, and Android Studio Profilers.
• Collaborate with API, CDN, and backend teams to reduce delays and improve overall app and site responsiveness.
• Participate in support production incidents that impact performance.
• Share best practices through documentation, mentoring, and participation in Communities of Practice.
• Recommend tools, architectural adjustments, and workflow improvements that elevate performance quality.
• Contribute to automation, observability, and performance‑focused CI / CD processes.

Qualifications

Must Have : 7+ years of engineering experience focused on web, mobile, or platform performance.
