Maaqtusiis Elementary School in Ahousaht is looking for a Special Education Coordinator to join our team in a pristine village on the beautiful west coast of Vancouver Island.
As our school moves to the next level, we are looking for enthusiastic candidates who :
- are certified to teach in BC
- have education or experience in special education
- have skills in developing instructional strategies based on strengths and needs of individual students
- are ready and able to collaborate with school teams to adapt, accommodate, and modify learning outcomes for students based on their learning needs
- has experience with IEP and SMART goal development
- believes that all students can learn to high levels
- be student and learning-focused in an action / solution oriented school
- are flexible and adaptable in meeting student’s needs
- recognize the importance of building relationships to improving learning
- are familiar with the Read Well, Corrective Reading, Reading Master & Saxon Math programs
- salary is based on SD#70 Pay grid
