Responsibilities
Assist with writing and editing for a range of communications products; creating content for our intranet PCL Connects and internet PCL.
com; researching, interviewing for, and writing feature stories for PCL.com.
- Ability to adapt writing for both internal (conversational) and external (formal) audiences.
- Work with our communications specialist to support community involvement initiatives and campaigns.
- Assist with in-person events, helping with set-up / tear-down
- Assist in developing branded internal communications based on PCL’s visual identity using graphic design platforms (e.
g., posters, brochures and infographics).
- Works collaboratively with our communications specialist and events planner to develop videos on a variety of topics.
- Has attention to detail when it comes to writing articles, including an understanding of CP Style and writing best practices.
- Performs multiple projects effectively in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment.
Qualifications
- Working towards a degree or diploma in a communications-related field (communications, public relations, marketing, etc.).
- Strong written communication and collaboration skills.
- Competency with Microsoft Office products (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.).
- Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator).
- Knowledge of social media platforms and the ability to tailor content to each platform as required.
- Experience with photography, photo editing would be an asset.
- Experience with videography (scripting, storyboarding, location, interviews, sound, filming, and editing) and video editing would be an asset (Premier Pro or Final Cut).
