Family Medicine - Care of the Elderly
About This Opportunity
Camp Hill Memorial is looking for a part-time family physician with an interest in Care of the Elderly. 0.1-0.2 FTE position, responsible for looking after either 25 or 40 veterans and residents in central Halifax.
Nurse Practitioner support on-site.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities include but are not limited to :
- Examine patients and take their histories, order diagnostic tests and laboratory procedures; advise patients on health care, health promotion, and disease prevention
- Palliative Care
- Consultation and referral to other medical practitioners’
- Act as a patient’s advocate
- Prescribe and administer medications and treatments, inoculations and vaccinations
- Report births, deaths, contagious and other diseases as per Nova Scotia Public Health requirements
Expected Hours
- part-time hours
- rounds once or twice per week
- available by phone 8-5 Monday to Friday.
Compensation is fee for service, plus a stipend of $, to attend monthly meetings and $ per week, when participating in after-hours call.
