Position Summary
The Senior Project Manager is a role within the Media Operations & Transformation team, which is a business unit that supports all agencies within the IPG Mediabrands network, through the promotion of solutions that drive efficiency and enhance the sophistication of business operations.
Reporting into the Director, Media Operations & Transformation, this role will manage and coordinate all aspects of project planning, execution, and completion, ensuring that projects are delivered on time, on requirements, within budget, and to the specified quality standards while managing stakeholder relationships and team performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Acting as the primary point of contact between stakeholders and the project team, facilitating clear and consistent communication.
- Collaborate with project leads and stakeholders to develop project charters, ensuring they align with project objectives and receive approval from the project sponsor.
- Facilitate decision-making processes and pinpoint key decision-makers within the project team to ensure timely, budget-conscious, and requirements-compliant project delivery.
- Oversee projects of varying complexity levels and adeptly address any challenges that may arise throughout the project lifecycle.
- Lead project planning activities, including timeline development, scheduling, and diligent monitoring of progress.
- Lead task assignment, managing project team resources, and ensuring optimal use of resources during project lifecycle.
- Proactively identify potential risks that could affect project outcomes and develop / implement risk mitigation plans
- Deliver project plans and outcomes to stakeholders through engaging presentations, facilitating Q&A sessions for comprehensive understanding and feedback.
- Triage ad hoc support requests to appropriate subject matter experts ensuring efficient resolution and optimal resource utilization.
- Support quality assurance as needed during project development.
- Provide project and portfolio status updates
- Provide guidance to Junior Project Manager(s) on the team to aid their day-to-day work.
- Learn and navigate through media systems and platforms to understand project objectives and complex requirements.
- Promote the use of Asana best practices and methodologies within the team and organization
Desired Skills & Experience
- 5 years of project management experience, preferably in a marketing agency environment and 4-year undergraduate degree in Business, Marketing or STEM field.
- Strong understanding and experience with agile project management methodology, scrum methodology, effective change management, and other project management techniques.
- Able to work independently, collaborate effectively and to multitask with attention to detail.
- Proactive approach to problem solving and self-development.
- Strong interpersonal, analytical, time management and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work across a portfolio of projects, with multiple active projects at any given time, and execute effectively with minimal variance from initial project scope.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively apply knowledge and insights gained from various resources (ie. White papers, studies, articles, books, online research, etc.).
- Passion for data, emerging media and technology.
- Professional learning agility, with a passion for continuous development.
- Excellent verbal & written communication skills.
- Working Knowledge of Asana or any project management tool is a plus.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, other O365 apps).
- Knowledge and interest to follow news and trends within AI / LLMs is a plus.
