About This Opportunity

Medicine in Motion Sports Medicine and Arthritis Care Centre is seeking an orthopedic surgeon or family physician with their diploma in sports medicine.

This is a multi-disciplinary sports medicine clinic with sports medicine physicians who assess patients with MSK-related problems referred by family physicians in the community.

The clinic also has on-site physiotherapy, massage therapy, custom orthotics and footwear fittings, orthopedic bracing and orthopedic footwear.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include but are not limited to :

Examine patients and take their histories, order diagnostic tests and laboratory procedures; advise patients on health care, health promotion, and disease prevention

Consultation and referral to other medical practitioners’

Act as a patient’s advocate

Prescribe and administer medications and treatments, inoculations and vaccinations

Report births, deaths, contagious and other diseases as per Nova Scotia Public Health requirements
