Job Description

The Distribution Centre Manager will be responsible to oversee the development of the strategic direction and of the day-to-day operations of the distribution centre, ensuring the smooth and timely delivery of products to our customers and to our production lines.

This role involves managing a team, optimizing processes, maintaining inventory accuracy, and ensuring compliance with safety standards and managing our suppliers.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in logistics, exceptional leadership skills, and a commitment to operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities :

Operations Management : Oversee all aspects of distribution centre operations, including receiving, picking, production picking, packing, shipping, and returns processing.

Oversee and manage the transportation and customs group. Maintain relationships with suppliers.

• Team Leadership : Lead, motivate, and manage a team of supervisors, warehouse staff, and other personnel. Conduct training, performance evaluations, and staff development programs.
• Inventory Control : Ensure accurate inventory management and control processes. Conduct regular audits, monitor stock levels, and manage discrepancies.
• Process Improvement : Identify areas for operational improvements and implement best practices to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and optimize resource utilization dependant on volume.
• Safety and Compliance : Maintain a safe working environment by enforcing safety standards and protocols. Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and company policies.
• Customer Service : Collaborate with the sales and operations teams to resolve issues, ensure timely order fulfillment, and maintain high customer satisfaction levels.
• Budget Management : Develop and manage the distribution centre’s budget, including monitoring expenses and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
• Reporting and Analysis : Prepare and present regular reports on key performance indicators (KPIs), such as order accuracy, delivery times, and operational efficiency.

Qualifications

• Education : Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field preferred.
• Experience : Minimum of 5 years of experience in distribution, logistics, or warehouse management, with a proven track record of managing teams and optimizing operations.
• Skills : Strong leadership and people management skills. Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities. Proficiency in warehouse management systems related to SAP and other relevant software.
• Knowledge : In-depth understanding of distribution and logistics processes, inventory management, and supply chain best practices.
• Communication : Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with staff, management, and external partners.
