HR DIRECTOR

Our Made by Gather Family is looking to expand and grow the team with an HR Director based in Montreal. This role will focus on the core pillars of our blueprint for success and core values optimizing each associate touchpoint to reinforce our culture of accountability, transparency, inclusion, and results.

The HR Director will be a generalist, working on everything related to our people strategy, from talent acquisition, people operations, associate engagement & relations, learning & development, and KPIs / analytics.

Working with every level and department within the organization, this role will report directly into the VP of HR / Chief People Officer to help support and influence / partner with our teams across the organization.

RESPONSIBILITIES : Total Rewards

Total Rewards

  • Help manage total rewards across all teams; staying up-to-date on industry trends and technology
  • Assist senior management with identifying the needs of our team to offer the best benefits program based on feedback and industry best practices
  • Regularly monitor compensation trends in the market and pro-actively help maintain budgets and compensation recommendations
  • Help roll out and manage benefits administration in the US and CAN, including
  • Oversee the regular maintenance and up-keep of all systems, portals, HRIS, and third-party platforms
  • Ensure information for personnel is correct in the system so our Payroll Associate can process payroll correctly including helping to maintain addresses, new hire paperwork, benefits enrollments up-to-date, and any terminations are entered
  • spearheading educating teams on any updates to our plans, creating and distributing materials, hosting Benefits Seminar(s) with our partners, etc.
  • Support any internal and external audits, quarterly reporting, and end-of-year processing

Talent & Organizational Development

  • Help manage budgeting and scheduling of headcount and open-to-hire on a monthly / quarterly basis, including maintaining reporting with cross-functional partners
  • Help supervise the Onboarding of all New Hires, ensuring they are set up for success with the right resources, training and support
  • Support all talent acquisition initiatives, pro-actively helping execute recruitment strategies to attract and retain talent and help make MBG a company of choice for people of choice
  • Adhere to local HR recruiting processes and ensure compliance with local legislation
  • Partner with managers to scout, screen, interview candidates, and provide direction on candidate selection; providing support and guidance as needed
  • Support senior management in the strategic recruitment planning current and future hiring needs as the organization scales to grow
  • Support Employer Brand initiatives including growing network, assisting with maintaining brand-right forward facing collateral and ATS / talent platforms
  • Support senior management in the strategic recruitment planning current and future hiring needs as the organization scales to grow
  • You’ll help manage regional learning & development seminars, workshops, and training
  • Help engage, coach, mentor, and support our top talent, managers, supervisors, and employees to foster a culture of accountability, feedback and career development within our amazing team.
  • You will work directly with the management team on counseling, personal development plans, annual performance reviews, and mentorship programs
  • Help manage tools and resources to clarify and support roles and responsibilities

Engagement & Culture

  • You’ll foster the development of an incredible culture where employees feel cared for, respected, and valued according to our company values and blueprint for success
  • Assist with the implementation of regular employee engagement surveys, and ensure resulting initiatives are managed effectively.
  • Work cross-functionally to plan out events, associate and team initiatives to foster human connection across our teams and model our values

Associate & Labor Relations

  • Proactively advise managers and associates on conditions of employment
  • Help review and update company policies, procedures, and Handbook ensuring comprehension and understanding
  • You’ll develop a proactive and supportive working culture when dealing with associate issues and coach in the moment to address and remediate any negative behaviors or attitude(s)
  • Help provide an open-door policy to support and help those who visit with issues and questions
  • Maintain all local laws and company employment guidelines on a regular basis

QUALIFICATIONS :

  • 5-7 years HR experience in a generalist setting
  • College degree or equivalent work experience preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal skills with a proven track record in effective communication
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to work on multiple projects at a time
  • Ability to work with multiple stakeholders and leaders comfortably
  • Ability to work in a team and influence across job functions and company levels, with prior experience in presenting
  • Proficient in various computer programs, software, and applications, particularly different ATS and HRIS systems
  • Proficient in Office Suite, particularly excel, powerpoint, publisher and Teams
