What You’ll Be Doing:
· Teaching Grade 10 Science and Grade 11 Biology
· Preparing, developing and implementing engaging lessons plans for students consistent with the Ministry of Education curriculum;
· Using a variety of teaching and support strategies to meet the diverse learning needs of students;
· Incorporating a variety of visual aids, creative projects and technology to gain and enhance student involvement;
· Evaluating each student’s learning, understanding and performance through class work, assignments and tests;
· Fostering healthy relationships with students and faculty to create an enriched learning environment;
· Maintaining effective communication with students, parents and faculty;
· Completing required record keeping such as student attendance, grades and report cards;
· Participating in extra-curricular coaching, co-curricular and supervision responsibilities.
What You’ll Need:
· Undergraduate degree in Biology or Science.
· Bachelor of Education degree in Intermediate/Senior or equivalent.
· Membership, in good standing, with the Ontario College of Teachers.
· Experience teaching senior level science courses within an Upper School setting.
· A commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion and demonstrated experience in embedding them in work with students, faculty, and the school community.
· Strong interpersonal, organization, communication, and time management skills.
· A commitment to continued professional growth and development.
· Willingness and enthusiasm to participate in the co-curricular programme and school community.
· Experience in an independent school setting would be considered an asset.
