Job Description :

We're seeking a Data Engineer to lead data initiatives and innovation for our data team while actively focusing on gathering requirements and building reports for business stakeholders.

In this dynamic role, you'll collaborate across various departments to deliver scalable data solutions that enhance our decision-making processes and drive business growth.

Responsibilities :

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and translate business requirements from non-technical business users into technical specifications and actionable data plans.
  • Build automated reporting for internal stakeholders through the use of spreadsheets and visualization tools.
  • Architect, design, develop, and document scalable and efficient data solutions for our ecommerce marketplace, prioritizing data quality and integrity.
  • Lead hands-on development and implementation across multiple areas of the business, including our data pipelines, ETL processes, data warehousing, and analytics platforms.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for data architecture, processes, and models, ensuring clarity for business stakeholders.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues as they arise, ensuring seamless operation for our internal and end users.
  • Develop and deploy machine learning models and algorithms to derive actionable insights and predictions from our data.
  • Manage and execute data warehouse migrations, ensuring seamless transitions and minimal disruption.
  • Drive the evolution of our data technology stack, ensuring alignment with industry best practices and scalability for future growth.

What we like to see :

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
  • Proven experience (5+ years) in data engineering, with a strong emphasis on BI development and reporting.
  • 2+ years of experience working with Shopify Plus and Google Analytics (GA) data.
  • Previous experience with a Series A or B startup.
  • Expertise in SQL and database management systems such as PostgreSQL.
  • Proficiency in data warehousing and BI tools like Superset, Looker, Tableau, Power BI, or similar.
  • Strong understanding of ETL processes and data pipeline orchestration tools.
  • Experience with Kubernetes for container orchestration and deployment.
  • Experience with data cloud platforms and services like BigQuery, Snowflake, Redshift, or similar.
  • Proficiency in continuous integration and deployment tools such as GitLab CI / CD.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Strong ability to gather and analyze requirements from non-technical business users and translate them into technical specifications.
  • Experience with data warehouse migrations and understanding of best practices.
  • Proficient in programming languages such as Python, and experience with data analysis and visualization tools.
  • Solid background in big data technologies and data processing frameworks like Hadoop, Spark, and Kafka.
  • Knowledge of machine learning frameworks and libraries like TensorFlow, Keras, or Scikit-learn is a plus.
