Job Description

This is a remote position.

About QubeRisk

QubeRisk is a digital-first commercial insurance brokerage based in Vancouver, BC. We pair deep specialist expertise — anchored in aviation, construction, and real estate — with technology that takes the friction out of how clients buy and manage insurance.

Founded in 2023, we're a young brokerage with a builder's mindset. We're licensed in five provinces (BC, AB, MB, SK, ON) and growing. Our team is small, ambitious, and investing heavily in the platform that powers our work — so brokers spend less time on admin and more time on advisory work that actually moves the needle for clients.

The Opportunity

We're hiring an Account Executive, Commercial to help us grow the property & casualty commercial practice as we build out our specialist verticals. This is a producer and client management role - you'll build a book of business from the ground up.

Because our AI-enabled operations handle most of the administrative work traditional brokers spend their time on, you'll focus your time on the parts that matter: advising clients, negotiating with insurers, and building lasting relationships.

You'll have greenfield territory to develop your portfolio - as well as grow your career and learning in a lean, collaborative organization, working alongside colleagues to shape how the business grows.

What You'll Do

  • Build and grow a commercial P&C book — drive new business through outbound prospecting, networking, referrals, and industry presence across our five licensed provinces.
  • Lead end-to-end client relationships — intake, coverage design, underwriting submissions, market negotiation, binding, renewal, and ongoing advisory. AI handles the administrative work; you focus on the advisory conversation and building trust.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor — assess client risk profiles, recommend appropriate coverage structures, and translate complex coverage into clear, decision-ready guidance.
  • Drive market submissions and negotiations — work directly with our insurer and MGA partners to secure competitive terms and structures for clients.
  • Contribute to thought leadership — content, webinars, and industry presence to help build QubeRisk's profile in your target verticals.
  • Collaborate with and support the team on shared accounts, complex placements, and cross-vertical opportunities.
  • Help shape our platform and processes — your input directly influences how our AI-enabled operations evolve.

Requirements

What We're Looking For

  • 4+ years of commercial insurance experience.
  • Active broker license in one of: BC, AB, MB, SK, or ON.
  • Demonstrated track record of new business development — outbound prospecting, relationship building, and book building.
  • Comfortable working independently, but also able to work effectively and contribute with colleagues across the broader organization.
  • Comfortable with technology — you see modern tools as enablement, not friction, and you want to help shape the platform.
  • Builder mindset — you want to be early in something you can help define, not slot into a fully-built machine.
  • Strong written and verbal communication — you can hold a room and articulate complex coverage in plain language.

What Makes QubeRisk Different

Technology That Works for You: Our proprietary platform handles the administrative work so brokers can focus on what they do best—building relationships, providing advice, and growing their book. Your feedback directly influences how the platform evolves.

Build Your Own Book: This is true greenfield territory. You'll have the opportunity to create and grow your own client portfolio rather than inheriting an existing book of business.

Learn from Industry Leaders: Receive hands-on mentorship from experienced insurance professionals and leaders who are invested in your development and long-term success.

High-Growth, High-Impact Opportunity: Join a company with significant momentum where your contributions are highly visible. As an early team member, you'll help shape the business while accelerating your own career growth.

Autonomy with Real Ownership: You'll have the trust and freedom to make decisions, take initiative, and own meaningful work without layers of unnecessary bureaucracy.

Collaborative, Transparent Culture: Work in a flat organization where ideas matter more than titles. Leaders are accessible, communication is open, and everyone works together to build something exceptional.

Our Values

Transparency – Open communication builds trust.

Relentless Innovation – We continuously improve through technology and new ideas.

Uncompromised Client Advocacy – We always put our clients first.

Ownership & Accountability – We take initiative, own outcomes, and deliver on our commitments.

Collaborative Excellence – We achieve better results by combining diverse expertise and working as one team.

Compensation, Benefits & Perks

At QubeRisk, we believe in rewarding our people competitively and fairly based on the value they bring to the team.

The expected base salary range for this position is $60,000–$80,000 CAD, depending on your skills, experience, qualifications, and the level at which you are hired. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for commission, with earning potential tied to individual and business performance.

We're open to hiring at a different level than originally posted for candidates whose experience, expertise, and demonstrated capabilities warrant it. Compensation and responsibilities will be aligned accordingly.

In addition to competitive compensation, QubeRisk offers a comprehensive total rewards package, including health and dental benefits, paid vacation, professional development opportunities, and the chance to grow your career in a collaborative, high-growth environment.

We're building a workplace where everyone can thrive. That starts with an inclusive hiring process. If you need accommodation during recruitment, just let us know. We're happy to work with you to create an experience that supports your success.
