To teach LJSO Topics in Law and Society; currently scheduled for In-Person delivery, Wednesdays and Fridays 0835-0955, in the Winter term (January – April) 2027.
The part-time academic’s duties include responsibility for planning the course, teaching the class, coordinating guest speakers and/or library visits; evaluating the students, and administration relating to the class. The part-time academic must be available for consultation with students outside of class times. This position will report to the Coordinator of the Law, Justice & Society Program.
Course Description
Topics covered within this course will vary from year to year, and may include alternative theories and approaches to justice; law and social media; the role of law in social inequalities; and human rights issues.
Qualifications/Requirements of Position
Applications must be submitted electronically via the PeopleAdmin Portal and should include a CV, Cover letter, and two letters of reference. A Teaching Statement and/or evidence of teaching effectiveness (including, if available, the results of teaching evaluations for university-level classes) are also welcome.
This is a special topics class to be designed by the instructor. Applications must include a proposal describing the curriculum to be delivered, including a course description and three to four topics with readings. A complete syllabus is not required at this time.
