WELL Health Diagnostic Centres, previously C-health, and is seeking a Treadmill Team Lead. The Team Lead is a working leader who continues to perform their regular day-to-day duties while also providing guidance, coordination, and support to the team. This role acts as an extension of the manager by helping oversee daily operations, supporting staff, and ensuring smooth workflow across the department. The Team Lead fosters a positive solutions-focused environment and serves as a go-to resource for questions, coaching, and operational support.

Key Responsibilities:

General Patient Care:

  • Perform cardiac stress testing on patients using standard operating procedures and policies for Simple Exercise Treadmill Tests, Nuclear Exercise Tests (MIBIs), and Nuclear Pharmacological Tests (DIPYs).
  • Monitor patients for physical deterioration and/or the potential for physical deterioration and alert physician(s) responsible as necessary.
  • Review patient chart(s) in preparation for diagnostic testing to ensure maximal patient safety; identify potential concerns and alert the physician responsible as necessary.
  • Room patients for consultation/follow-up/testing appointments prior to seeing physician.
  • Obtain 12-lead ECG and vitals (including but not limited to: height, weight, waist circumference, pulse, blood pressure, SpO2, BGL, and temperature) as necessary.
  • Ensure accurate and detailed documentation of vitals, patient assessment(s), medication regime(s), and overall physical status per clinical policy.
  • Access Alberta Netcare for up-to-date patient medications, labs, and relevant testing as needed.
  • Obtain and monitor 12-lead ECGs in both urgent and non-urgent situations.
  • Provide patient teaching regarding CAD and risk factors for heart disease as needed.
  • Prioritize and respond to patients requiring urgent/emergent medical intervention as required.

Physician Support:

  • Assist physician with physical patient exam as required.
  • Perform independent clinical assessment(s)/physical exams when requested by physician and relay findings in an efficient and reliable manner.
  • Ensure that physicians have all necessary and up-to-date forms/documentation for patient testing.
  • Ensure exam rooms and treadmill labs are clean, tidy, and stocked between patients and receive a thorough cleaning at end of each day per clinical policy.

Code Team Support & Emergent Patient Care:

  • Provide urgent and emergent patient care to WELL Health patients when requested by a physician and/or standing orders.
  • Participate as a member of the code team by carrying a portable radio, completing daily radio checks, and responding to calls for assistance as necessary.
  • Participate in bi-monthly team meetings alternating with bi-monthly mock code scenarios; share knowledge and relevant expertise with the rest of the team as required.

Administrative:

  • Review stock and inventory in all crash carts and storage areas on a weekly basis.
  • Ensure that all crash carts remain fully stocked, organized, and in date ( not expired) by informing Manager, Diagnostics of any missing/outdated supplies and completing medication and supply orders as directed.
  • Review and complete day sheets as required by Manager, Diagnostics; address any concerns with responsible physician as needed.
  • Maintain laminar clinic flow and optimized patient experience through communication with administrative staff and other members of clinical and diagnostic teams as needed.
  • Assist with patient care by taking on tasks assigned to them by physicians and/or Manager, Diagnostics and completing same in a timely fashion.
  • Ensure careful and detailed documentation is recorded in patient charts for all patient interactions.
  • Attend weekly staff meetings and in-service training(s) as required.

Teamwork:

  • Work collaboratively with all C-health/WELL Health employees by being an effective team player, assisting others with daily duties when possible, working with different personality types, participating in team discussions and communicating with appropriate supervisor/manager.
  • Provide support to Manager and/or perform ancillary duties as required (outlined below).
  • Participate as part of the clinical team to ensure patient safety.
  • Assist in the training and onboarding of new clinical staff members as required.

Ancillary Duties May Include, but are not limited to:

  • Create educational resources for clinical and diagnostics teams when requested by Manager, Diagnostics as needed for clinical excellence.
  • Develop or revise existing staff training resources and procedures.
  • Provide hands-on staff education/in-service training as required.
  • Participate in internal advisory teams and/or internal strategic planning.
  • General cleaning, organization, and rearrangement of physical space(s) in clinic.
  • Provide coverage for Manager, Diagnostics when they are away/otherwise unavailable.
  • Confirming receipt of MPI reports and facilitating follow-ups as required.
  • Check and/or order clinic stock as requested by Manager, Diagnostics.
  • Attend relevant trainings or educational sessions as needed/as opportunities arise.
  • Review shipping and event logs in clinic and treadmill lab to ensure full documentation as required.

Qualifications, Experience, & Requirements:

  • Strong understanding of department’s workflows, patient flow, standards, and daily operational needs.
  • Demonstrated initiative, professionalism, and the ability to support team members and contribute positively to team culture.
  • Clear, respectful communication with staff, leaders, and patients; ability to de-escalate and coach in real time.
  • Consistent follow-through, dependable attendance, strong time management, and adherence to confidentiality and organizational standards.
  • Ability to guide, support, and train team members, including new staff and those learning new workflows.
  • Skilled at assessing situations, making sound decisions, and escalating issues appropriately.
  • Openness to new processes, workflow improvements, and organizational initiatives.
  • Ability to remain composed, fair, and consistent during busy periods or conflict.
  • Comfortable with scheduling support, documentation, reporting, and communication tasks.
  • A cheerful, positive attitude and the ability to work effectively with others as well as the ability to work independently and treat everyone with respect, dignity, and kindness.
