Description

Are you exceptional at identifying opportunities to add value and grow new business? Are you someone who balances bringing great ideas to the table and following through to execute those ideas? We’d love to hear from you!

Axis Communications is seeking a Business Development Manager, Industrial and Critical Infrastructure to join our growing team in Canada.

In this role, you’ll be responsible for generating awareness and demand for Axis products and Axis-influenced IP solution segments within the Industrial and Critical Infrastructure (ICI) sector and its associated sub-segments. The primary goal is to foster deep relationships with end users and stakeholders to drive growth in alignment with Axis’ strategic business objectives.

The successful candidate must live close to Toronto/GTA ON, Calgary/Edmonton AB, Vancouver BC or Montreal QC.

What You’ll Do Here…

  • Develop total-solution concepts and strategies tailored to the unique operational requirements of the ICI sector, including Oil and Gas, Mining, Power and Energy, Refinement and Water/Wastewater Management.
  • Look beyond traditional physical security to define operational ROI and safety solutions using Axis core technologies and partner ecosystems.
  • Develop concise and focused solutions and strategies across all sub-segments of the ICI vertical
  • Build and maintain long-term end-user relationships based on understanding their specific business initiatives and risk profiles.
  • Develop and provide strategic guidance for key Axis Development Partner (ADP) teaming relationships relevant to the Canadian ICI market.
  • Expand and cultivate relationships with National Solution Integrators (NSIs) specializing in critical infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with key industry associations and regulatory bodies to drive technology standards and safety guidance.
  • Represent Axis at ICI-specific industry events, trade shows, and conferences as a subject matter expert and public speaker.
  • Provide regional guidance to the Canadian and Americas sales organizations regarding complex, large-scale ICI projects, regulatory environments, and procurement policies.
  • Identify new market opportunities and innovative applications for IP-based devices in the ICI space, spanning both physical security and industrial IoT.
  • Provide monthly reporting on market trends, competitive landscape, and pipeline development to management.

What We Are Looking For …

  • Industry Expertise: Deep knowledge of IT/OT convergence, IP-based enterprise security, and operational monitoring within industrial environments.
  • Strategic Sales: Proven track record in enterprise-level sales with a focus on long-cycle, high-value projects.
  • C-Level Influence: Ability to communicate technical and operational value to stakeholders ranging from field operations to executive leadership.
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong understanding of system architecture, cybersecurity requirements for critical infrastructure, and industrial communication standards.
  • Communication: Exceptional public speaking and presentation skills; ability to represent Axis in press/PR engagements.
  • Collaboration: A self-motivated team player capable of coaching sales teams on how to position complex solutions to ICI customers.

What You’ll Need …

  • 7+ years of experience as a security or operational professional within the Critical Infrastructure space, an Industry Consultant, or working with a security manufacturer/integrator specializing in Enterprise IT/OT solutions.
  • Established professional network of end-users, consultants, and partners within the Canadian ICI sector (Oil & Gas, Mining, Energy, etc.).
  • Experience with regulatory compliance and standards pertinent to Canadian Critical Infrastructure.
