We currently have anexciting opportunityas a Yard Worker for a two-months contract. This role is based in our Calgary Distribution Centreand reports to the Distribution Centre Manager.

Job Summary
The Yard Worker (Order Picker / Forklift Operator) is responsible for the accurate safe and efficient handling of materials to support daily distribution centre operations. This role involves picking staging and loading products while maintaining high standards of quality safety and customer service.
This position primarily operates in an outdoor yard environment and may involve working in varying weather conditions.
Principal Responsibilities
Operate material handling equipment (including counterbalance forklifts) safely and in accordance with company policies
Accurately pick stage and load customer orders using RF scanning systems
Execute work in the prescribed sequence so deliver-by-date is met.
Work proficiently to meet Productivity Quality and Safety targets.
Load/unload Flatbed and Dry Van trucks.
Maintain inventory accuracy using FIFO (First In First Out) principles
Maintain a clean and organized work environment in accordance with 5S (Lean) practices
Follow all health safety and environmental procedures including hazard reporting
Collaborate with team members to meet productivity quality and safety targets
Perform other duties as assigned to support operations
Qualifications & Experience
High school diploma or equivalent
Safely operate various forklift equipment specifically Counterbalance forklift (10000lb capacity)
Valid forklift certification is an asset (training may be provided)
Experience using RF scanners or warehouse management systems is an asset
Ability to read and understand work instructions in English
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures
Effective communication and teamwork skills
Ability to work with both metric and imperial measurements
Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including lifting carrying and moving materials weighing up to 50 lbs (with or without accommodation)
Frequent standing walking bending and repetitive movements
Work is performed outdoors and may involve exposure to varying weather conditions
