Environmental & Hydrogeology Technologist to support environmental compliance and risk management for upstream and legacy oil and gas assets for our client in Calgary, AB.
This role is ideal for a technically strong and analytical professional who enjoys combining
fieldwork, data analysis, and regulatory reporting to support responsible asset management. Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will play a key role in ensuring compliance with provincial and federal environmental regulations while contributing to innovative solutions for contaminated site management.

Responsibilities: Environmental Fieldwork & Data Analysis - Conduct environmental field programs, including soil, groundwater, and surface water sampling
- Collect, compile, and analyze complex environmental datasets
- Support contaminated site assessments and hydrocarbon impact evaluations
- Assist in analyzing topographic, geotechnical, and hydrological data
Regulatory Compliance & Reporting - Prepare and review regulatory documentation and environmental reports
- Ensure alignment with provincial and federal environmental regulations and guidelines
- Support environmental compliance efforts across Exploration & Production and Legacy Asset teams
- Summarize technical findings and present results clearly to senior management
Technical Review & Project Support - Review and approve technical reports prepared by third-party consultants
- Provide technical expertise in geoscience, hydrogeology, and environmental management
- Assist in the preparation of reports including data tables, borehole logs, test pit logs, and GIS/CAD outputs
- Support project teams in risk mitigation and strategic environmental planning
Systems & Tools - Utilize database systems and analytical tools for environmental data management
- Work with software such as GIS, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and modeling tools
- Apply computer tools to solve basic engineering and geoscience challenges
Qualifications and Skills: - College diploma in Geoscience, Hydrogeology, Environmental, Earth Science, Geological or Civil Engineering Technology, or a related field
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience (oil & gas industry experience preferred)
- Experience conducting environmental fieldwork and sampling programs
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word)
- Strong technical writing and reporting capabilities
- Experience in soil and groundwater site assessments and contamination management
- Knowledge of provincial and federal environmental regulations
- Experience with GIS, AutoCAD, Civil 3D
- Familiarity with Wellview, Petrel, Surfer, ArcGIS, or Global Mapper
- Experience with hydrological, hydraulic, or geological modeling software
- Database and environmental data management experience
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills
- Excellent technical communication and report writing ability
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Collaborative team player with strong stakeholder engagement skills
- Commitment to environmental stewardship and regulatory compliance
- Mu st be legally eligible to work, and reside in Canada
