The Bylaw & Licensing Services Division is seeking a service-oriented and detail-focused Bylaw Clerk to join This casual position provides important clerical and administrative support to Municipal Bylaw & Licensing staff while helping deliver timely, courteous, and accurate service to members of the public.

In this role, you will receive and process bylaw complaints; gather information from complainants; prepare complaint forms; maintain inspection diary records; and create and update cases using the division's database tracking system. You will also support business licensing administration by maintaining licence records, entering and updating data, issuing business licences, and providing factual information to the public. Other responsibilities include responding to a high volume of telephone, counter, and email enquiries; preparing correspondence, reports, forms, memoranda, court depositions, and other materials; processing FIPPA requests; maintaining records for the District's ticketing process; and performing related clerical duties.

Requirements include Grade 12 or equivalent, a one-year post-secondary certificate in office or business administration, and one year of office experience. The position requires accuracy, patience, courtesy, confidentiality, tact, and the ability to communicate effectively with the public. Employment is subject to the provision of a satisfactory Police Information Check no older than six months. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

The successful candidate will work on a casual, as-and-when-required basis within the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday. Hours and shifts are subject to operational requirements and are not guaranteed. As a component of the selection process, testing will be conducted.
