Finance Analyst Contractor

Our client is seeking an experienced Finance Analyst Contractor to provide immediate support to their finance and operations teams. This role is responsible for preparing monthly accruals, analyzing financial results, and supporting accounting processes related to volumes, revenue, royalties, and transportation. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical capabilities, hands‑on oil & gas accounting knowledge, and the ability to quickly step into a fast‑paced environment with minimal ramp‑up.

Your success will be defined by your ability to :

• Prepare monthly accruals for production volumes, revenue, royalties, and transportation
• Complete transportation journal entries and support related accounting requirements
• Analyze actuals compared to budgets and forecasts, highlighting variances and trends
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure accuracy and completeness of month‑end reporting
• Apply knowledge of oil & gas operations to interpret data, validate assumptions, and support financial decision‑making
• Utilize an understanding of royalty regimes to ensure correct calculations and compliance
• Maintain accurate documentation and support audit requests as needed
• Contribute to continuous improvement of processes and reporting tools
• Work independently while managing shifting priorities and deadlines
