We are looking for a Senior Accountant to join the team in our Elmira office!
Key Responsibilities of the Position :
- Prepare financial statements at the compilation, review and audit engagement levels in all sectors including corporate and not-for-profit sector.
- Prepare personal, corporate, partnership, charity, social housing and other compliance returns.
- Develop positive working relationships with clients and staff.
- Work effectively in a team environment or independently.
- Supervise and train staff accountants.
- Participate in pre and post engagement discussions.
- Work within time budgets, monitor progress to budget and meet deadlines.
- Report progress of engagements to Manager and Partner on an ongoing basis.
- Examine and analyze accounting and financial records to ensure accuracy and compliance with established accounting standards and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.
Your Qualifications :
- Minimum 3 years of experience in public practice preferred.
- CPA designation preferred but not required.
- Expansive knowledge of GAAP.
- Knowledge and experience with Canadian Tax required.
- Strong organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent ability to communicate with clients and build relationships.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Good working knowledge of Caseware and CCH iFirm.
- Familiarity with various bookkeeping software including Quickbooks, Quickbooks Online, Sage etc.
