Senior Accountant (Elmira)

We are looking for a Senior Accountant to join the team in our Elmira office!

Key Responsibilities of the Position :

• Prepare financial statements at the compilation, review and audit engagement levels in all sectors including corporate and not-for-profit sector.
• Prepare personal, corporate, partnership, charity, social housing and other compliance returns.
• Develop positive working relationships with clients and staff.
• Work effectively in a team environment or independently.
• Supervise and train staff accountants.
• Participate in pre and post engagement discussions.
• Work within time budgets, monitor progress to budget and meet deadlines.
• Report progress of engagements to Manager and Partner on an ongoing basis.
• Examine and analyze accounting and financial records to ensure accuracy and compliance with established accounting standards and procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.

Your Qualifications :

• Minimum 3 years of experience in public practice preferred.
• CPA designation preferred but not required.
• Expansive knowledge of GAAP.
• Knowledge and experience with Canadian Tax required.
• Strong organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent ability to communicate with clients and build relationships.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Good working knowledge of Caseware and CCH iFirm.
• Familiarity with various bookkeeping software including Quickbooks, Quickbooks Online, Sage etc.
