RoleSummary
NursePractitioners (NP) are needed for parttimeassignments in our OttawaClinic.
NursePractitioners will provide general andpreventative advice and care checkups manage chronic illnessesorder lab tests.
A nurse practitioner is an extendedclass / advanced practice nurse that supports all aspects of primarycare including diagnosis treatment and consultations.
NursePractitioners can perform independently or as a member of a broadercare team.
Weare flexible on the amount of days or hours you are able towork.
CriticalAccountabilities
Functionsindependently to perform ageappropriate history and facilitatesapplicable physical examination for primary care patients withinscope based on patient location.
Ordersand interprets diagnostic and therapeutic tests relative to patients agespecificneeds
Prescribesappropriate pharmacologic and nonpharmacologic treatmentmodalities
Implementsinterventions to support the patient to regain or maintainphysiologic and mental health stability
Assistswith the provision of care in accordance with facility provincialand federalregulations.
Monitorsthe effectiveness of interventions over time as applicable
Facilitatesthe patient s transition within and between health care settingse.g. admitting transferring and discharging patients based onassigned privileges.
Collaborateswith multidisciplinary team members by making appropriatereferrals
Facilitatesstaff patient and family decision making by providing appropriateeducationalguidance.
Qualification&Experience
Minimum1 year experience in the Nurse Practitioner role preferred. Recentgraduates are also encouraged to apply and may be considered.
Graduateof an accredited Nurse PractitionerProgram
CurrentAdvanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or extended class (EC)Licensure
CurrentCNOR / CRNFA (if applicable)certification
Currentprovider card in Basic Life Support (BLS)
RecentCRC (Criminal record Check) via CSIScreening
Eligiblefor registration with the appropriate Provincial RegulatoryCollege
Provenability to effectively communicate with all levels of clinical andnonclinical Field employees and interpret company policies.
Strongtrack record in healthteaching
Exceptionalinterpersonal skills and ability to handle difficult situations inan objective consistentformat
Abilityto work independently and as part of a team and demonstratedcritical thinkingskills
Nursein Charge experience is considered anasset
Ableto perform and prioritise multiple functions and tasks related toclinical care
Commitmentto travel from assignment to assignment (only if contracted to doso).
Provideproof of Covid19 vaccination as per provincial Covid19 Immunizationand Management Policy. (All hires must have received a full doseseries of a COVID19 vaccine approved by Health Canada within 14days prior to the startdate)
