Please note this role will work in a hybrid environment. The successful candidate must be located near a Canadian Blood Services site and will be working a mixture of on-site and off-site work based on the parameters for our operations to meet the needs of our donors, our staff and our communities.

Currently, employees are expected to have an in-person presence for at least 40% of their work time. This requirement may vary depending upon circumstances.

About the role

Canadian Blood Services is looking for a Temporary Full-time Marketing Project Manager to join our dynamic Marketing & Partnership Development team.

The Marketing & Partnership Developmen t team is responsible for supporting the marketing requirements and for executing corporate strategy.

As the Marketing Project Manager, you will be responsible for the planning and development of an integrated brand platform launch, as well as the connected go-to-market strategies.

You will manage the development and launch process, and work closely with brand, marketing, communications, product leads, digital teams, field teams and other identified stakeholder groups to deliver against plan.

You will develop and manage the launch project plan, processes, and lead all cross functional team meetings to deliver the outcomes that will strengthen and enrich the Canadian Blood Services brand and grow our donor base across all products.

Formula for success

Leveraging your skills in strategic planning and project management, you will meticulously outline the scope of work and craft comprehensive project plans.

By integrating your expertise in brand marketing, you'll ensure that the plan aligns with organizational objectives and effectively addresses the unique requirements of each initiative.

Drawing upon your collaborative abilities, you will work with the project team, other Canadian Blood Services staff and, external resources to develop and maintain the Project Plan.

The Project Plan will define the deliverables, roles and responsibilities, timelines, communications plan, implementation strategy.

Harnessing your proficiency in risk management, you'll proactively identify, assess, and monitor project risks throughout the project's life.

You will help to identify mitigation strategies against these risks and implements these strategies.

  • Utilizing your strong communication skills, you will provide regular updates on project progress and performance to the Project Director, Project Sponsor, Steering Committee and / or other parties as required, on behalf of the Project Team.
  • Utilizing your meticulous approach to change management, you will ensure that any suggested alterations to project scope, timelines, financial allocations, or risk mitigation strategies are diligently documented and presented to relevant decision-makers.

By facilitating thorough review and approval processes, you'll maintain project alignment with organizational objectives and ensure informed decision-making regarding project adjustments.

  • Capitalizing on your leadership skills, you'll provide clear direction and guidance to project team members, empowering them to contribute their expertise towards achieving project objectives.
  • Drawing on your network and experience in vendor management, you'll identify suitable contractors and external resources to supplement the project team's capabilities.

Desired education and skills

  • Post-secondary level education, preferably a university degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Project Management or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of marketing experience, including progressive project management experience in marketing / brand campaign development and execution.

And minimum of 2 years of experience managing large events.

  • Ability to analyze complex problems, interpret business needs, and develop integrated, creative solutions.
  • Highly developed team leadership and interpersonal skills are required. Proven ability to build and manage professional relationships.
  • Advanced verbal and written communications skills in English.
  • Knowledge of risk management concepts.
  • Ability to deal with senior management and external stakeholders.
  • Exemplifies integrity, collaboration, adaptability, respect, and excellence in every situation.

What you can expect

  • This role will work in a hybrid environment with requirements to be onsite at a Canadian Blood Services location 40% of the time / 2 days of the week.
  • You will work Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week, 7.5 hours per day.
  • If you are located outside of Ottawa, you may be expected to travel to our head office location in Ottawa 1800 Alta Vista Dr, quarterly for in-person team meetings when required.
