Your opportunity :

Under the general supervision of the Manager of Technical Operations this position overseas the day to day operation of the Leigha Lee Browne Theatre and associated spaces.

This role acts as a liaison between faculty, students, staff and technicians, and has responsibility for coordinating and administering the use of the LLBT resources and spaces.

This role sets the standards for inclusion and equity in the theatre space, ensuring students, staff and faculty find a safe and inclusive work environment.

Working closely with the Technical Director this role provides technical guidance, support and troubleshooting, and assists with the hands on implementation of the designer’s set, lighting and sound configurations.

This role takes on some strategic coordination of technical processes and procedures across the department, and leads on relations with external partners, clients and commercial space usage.

Your responsibilities will include :

  • Determining logistical details and activities for events and / or programming
  • Determining technical requirements for theatre productions
  • Implementing a rollout plan for the season performance schedule
  • Analyzing technical operation activities and recommending changes for improvement
  • Implementing production activities according to plans and schedules
  • Liaising with internal contacts to resolve problems and confirm schedule for production activities and rentals
  • Scheduling and assigning work to a small group in a limited area
  • Coordinating the assembly and installation of production elements

Essential Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's Degree preferably in Theatre, Visual and Performance Arts, Arts Management or acceptable combination of equivalent experience
  • Minimum of five (5) years of recent and related experience in Production Management,Stage Management, Technical Direction or similar preferably in postsecondary environment.
  • Excellent organizational skills with experience in project management working with multiple events
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills to excel in a highly service-oriented environment
  • Must possess strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work well in a team environment and maintain productive and respectful working relationships with all stakeholders including staff, faculty, students and external stakeholders
  • Must be skilled and have experience in the use and care of various tools used for theatre set construction. Will be assisting with theatre set
  • Ability to prioritize and complete many competing demands in order to meet strict deadlines with keen attention to detail
  • Proficiency and experience working with financial administration and responsibilities
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint with the ability to createand manipulate detailed reports in Excel
  • Ability to handle confidential information with tact and discretion; adhering to established policies and procedures
