Senior Social Worker / Psychotherapist

18 Month Contract (Maternity Cover) / Full Time (37.5 hrs)

On-site / Georgina, Ontario

MPA is proud to be partnered alongside a not for profit multi-disciplinary clinic located in Georgina, Ontario. In this dynamic role, you will play a pivotal role in providing holistic mental health assessments and treatment to individuals, families, and groups to enable significant improvements in their overall quality of life.

Responsibilities :

• Complete thorough biopsychosocial assessments of clients and determine the type of services they require.
• Provide time-limited counselling and therapy to individuals, families, and groups.
• Liaise with other professionals involved in clients care e.g. Community Care Support Services, Detoxification Centres, Health Integration Network, ACT Teams.
• Provide referrals or signposting to external agencies for support with housing, financial assistance or medical treatment etc.

• Maintain contact with the client and their families where appropriate to ensure follow-up on referrals.
• Monitor patient progress and outcomes through ongoing assessment.
• Take necessary protective action when you suspect or identify child abuse or neglect.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records on the clinic Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
• Work in partnership with the wider multi-disciplinary team in the clinic.
• Participate in case presentations / reviews within the clinic.
• Engage in continuous professional development to keep knowledge and skills upto-date.

Qualifications :

• Masters (MSW) degree in Social Work.
• Registration in good standing with Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW) or College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO).
• Professional liability insurance.
• 3-5 years of experience providing counselling to individuals, groups and families.
• Experience using therapeutic modalities in your practice.
• Experience supporting clients with a range of issues to include mental health, addiction and relationship issues.
• Experience using EMR systems is an asset.
• Drivers license and access to a reliable vehicle.
