With consistent foot traffic during the academic year and campus events, the college requires a well-maintained environment that supports safety, accessibility, and efficient day-to-day operations.

Position: Part Time Security Guard

Site: Huron College

Site Address: 1349 Western Road, London, ON, N6G 1H3

Hours: Saturday - Sunday (11:30PM to 8AM)

Pay progression:

0 – 30 days: $19.00/hr

30 – 60 days: $20.00/hr

60 – 90 days: $21.00/hr

90+ days: $22.50/hr

Overtime Method: Averaging Agreement – calculating after 88 hours bi-weekly

Key responsibilities:

• Implement security measures to protect property, control access to sites and ensure client rules and regulations are followed
• Check In each student – confirm that they are in residence with ID
• Maintain confidentiality
• Maintain written reports
• Perform security checks and liaise with students, customers and the public
• Ensure site safety and emergency procedures are followed and maintain written reports
• Enforce compliance to company policies and procedures
• First Aid – be prepared to administer when required
• Maintaining a positive, productive work environment
• Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned

Prerequisites:

• Valid Security License for the province of Ontario
• Valid First Aid & CPR - Level C (from a WSIB-approved vendor)
• English (oral and written) fluency is a must
• Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field preferred
• Must possess excellent customer service skills
• Superior written and verbal communication skills
• Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB)
• Applicants lacking these certifications can opt into Paladin's UoF/MOAB training program prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the position Please be aware: The UoF/MOAB training is not paid as it is a pre-requisite; however, Paladin will cover all of the costs of the training with a 6-month commitment to the position/availability
