The Legal Counsel will report to the Managing Legal Counsel and be a member of a team of inhouse lawyers that provides strategic legal support for materials procurement, and services and construction contracting including contracting strategy and development / drafting, contract negotiations through execution and contract implementation.
What you will do :
Provide legal support with structuring, drafting, reviewing, negotiating, interpreting and implementing contracts related to a variety of complex construction projects and associated medium to high risk service activities.
Implementation work specifically includes working closely with the applicable SCM and Business Unit to understand the issues, applying factual scenarios to the contract and offering opinions and interpretations, preparing required contractual notices (indemnity, withholding, disputes, etc.
- and assisting with formal responses to Contractor Change Requests and Change Orders;
- Reviewing, drafting and negotiating procurement documents and contracts including, requests for proposals; materials purchase agreements;
- supply and install agreements; off-site fabrication agreements; warehousing agreements; transportation and logistics agreements;
and surplus materials disposition agreements.
Researching and updating contracts and advising internal clients on a variety of laws impacting procurement, construction and services contracting work.

Who you are : Required :
Required :
A member in good standing with the Texas State Bar Association or of the Law Society of Alberta.
Approximately 3 5 years of relevant legal experience either in-house or at an external law firm.
Experience in contract drafting, negotiating and interpretation.
Eagerness to learn the business of Enbridge.
Ability to work on multiple assignments in a dynamic work environment under tight deadlines.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with all levels in the organization.
Meticulous attention to detail, but pragmatic in approach.
Preferred :
Broad understanding of the North American energy industry.
Construction law experience.

Physical Requirements include but are not limited to :
