The Coordinator, Space Planning & Leased Sites functions as a campus manager for BC Cancer staff in lower mainland leased sites.

In addition to managing building, clinical and administrative services space, the Coordinator develops and provides leadership to a Province-wide BC Cancer space planning program.

Working in collaboration with BC Cancer departments and Senior Leadership the Coordinator, Space Planning and Leased Sites will optimize use of interior space as well as independently identify, analyze, plan and coordinate space allocations across BC Cancer Centres.

What you’ll do

  • Draft and implement a Province-wide BC Cancer space planning program in collaboration with regional managers to ensure alignment of corporate guidelines and space utilization policies throughout BC Cancer.
  • Function as the campus Coordinator for all BC Cancer staff in leased sites, including management of the building, clinical and administrative services.

Ensures coordination of standardized office management practices across programs and sites.

  • Carry out space planning analysis and reporting; develops and maintains metrics to support the efficient and effective utilization of space and makes recommendations to ensure appropriate space is available to support operational requirements and strategic goals.
  • Consult with BC Cancer department and Senior Leadership to optimize use of all interior space. Independently identifies, analyzes, plans, and coordinates complex space allocations and ensures planning is aligned with corporate guidelines and space utilization policies.
  • Establish and chair both the Provincial Space Planning Committee and the Vancouver Campus Space Planning Committee to provide updates and recommendations on space planning and related management projects and issues.

Develops and implements space management and utilization policies, guidelines, standards, processes and documentation for committee review, and the Senior Leadership Team’s approval.

What you bring

Qualifications :

A level of education, training, and experience equivalent to Bachelor's degree in business administration or related discipline, and five (5) years of experience in facilities and space planning.

You will have :

  • Knowledge of space management and utilization principles.
  • Effective organizational, research, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize, plan, organize and carry out activities within tight timelines.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present data in an effective manner.
  • Leadership in facilitating and adapting to changes while establishing a high standard of quality and level of satisfaction amongst employees, clients, stakeholders.
  • Ability to plan, organize and coordinate a variety of activities to ensure maximum effectiveness.
  • Advanced level of proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and a working knowledge of PC applications.
  • Strong problem solver with integrity, adaptability and originality.
  • Commitment to upholding the shared responsibility of creating lasting and meaningful reconciliation in Canada as per TRC (2015) and BC's Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (2019).
  • Knowledge of social, economic, political and historical realities impacting indigenous communities and familiarity with Indigenous Cultural Safety and anti-racism and accompanying reports (BC DRIPA, TRC, etc.).

Salary : $72,445-$104,139 / year.

Location : Provincial Position which involves remote work, however, the candidate must be within the vicinity of a regional BC Cancer Centre to work on-site as required.

As per the current Public Health Order, full vaccination against COVID-19 is a condition of employment with PHSA as of October 26, 2021.
