Director of Operational Excellence
Our client is a global leader in the personal care market , driving the strategic focus on their manufacturing excellence program across America and Europe.
The organization's core goal is to define and roll out their 'one best way' in regards to quality, safety, cost and delivery.
With this, they are seeking a professional to support the hands implementation of their Lean program across their most visible and influential site, to demonstrate the tools, identify improvement and support the cultural transformation and approach to working.
Therefore, they are looking for a Head of Operational Excellence, to be able to be that 'go to' leader and figure of subject matter expertise in the facility to embed the standard and provide a model site to the other facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Using Lean Six Sigma methodology, influence the manufacturing portfolio, including providing the understanding of the preferred Kaizen tool.
- Create clear, measurable, and sustainable financial KPIs. Transfer knowledge and skills to team members to enhance organizational competence in operational excellence.
- Work with the project managers to coach them in regards to Opex and Continuous Improvement methodologies.
- Launch Hoshin Kanri management methodologies.
- Create and develop a plant scorecard.
Job Description
- Be able to work between functions and break barriers and silos (possess the right soft skills such as facilitation, change management, emotional intelligence, voice of the customer).
- Strategic thinking with a global vision of the future in order to build a world-class organization (able to identify gaps in order to prioritize the right projects and set ambitious goals).
- Possesses the aptitude and ambition to become a role model demonstrating a passion for excellence through the rigorous application of Lean Six Sigma thinking and tools.
Also able to mentor and train other belts
Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science Degree
- Six Sigma Certification- Black or Master Black Belt
- At least 10 years’ experience in Manufacturing, Supply Chain and / or Engineering environments within a large Global Organization.
- Project Management training is a strong asset.
- Proven ability to apply Lean Six Sigma tools : strong leadership and communication skills.
