Based in North Vancouver, British Columbia, the Full Charge Bookkeeper role is a long-term contract / temporary to hire opportunity. The most successful candidate for this position will be able to establish and maintain the organization's accounting principles, practices, procedures, and initiatives, as well as handle all general accounting and bookkeeping functions, including the preparation of financial statements.
Major responsibilities
- Preparing depreciation schedules by tracking fixed assets
- Handling processing tasks for accounts payable and accounts receivable, including collections
- Filing documents to maintain historical records
- Completing bank and general ledger reconciliations; processing payroll
- Managing accounting clerks and entry-level bookkeepers
- Ensuring correct and punctual monthly, quarterly and year end close
- Putting together the trial balance and financial statements, including balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow statement
- Studying and implementing federal, state, and local legal requirements, filing reports, and communicating with management on needed actions
