Job Summary

  • The Chemistry Laboratory Senior Technologist performs analysis and reporting of test results in the Core Laboratory rotating through Chemistry, Hematology and Transfusion Services.
  • The Chemistry Laboratory Senior Technologist performs advanced technical, quality assurance duties in collaboration with Resource Team Leaders to maintain the day-to-day operations and highest standards of accuracy, efficiency and safety according to established Policies and Procedures as per Accreditation Canada Diagnostics

Qualifications

  • Member in good standing with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Ontario (CMLTO)
  • University Degree or Advanced Certification or equivalent preferred
  • Demonstrated leadership, coaching and teaching abilities
  • Demonstrated expertise in Chemistry, with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a hospital setting.
  • Strong troubleshooting / problem solving skills in Chemistry
  • Experience with Chemistry automation and Bio Rad Unity Real Time quality control program preferred
  • Effective time management and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated ability to write technical procedures and training material
  • Demonstrated commitment to professional development
  • Demonstrates excellence in communication, both written and verbal
  • Innovative and willing to learn
  • Good attendance and proven work record required
  • Commitment to customer service and teamwork

As a condition of employment, you are required to submit proof of COVID-19 vaccination to the Hospital’s Occupational Health and Safety department.

Successful candidates will be required to submit proof of COVID-19 vaccination (two doses) from the Ontario Ministry of Health website or other authorized source directly to the Occupational Health and Safety department.
