Key Responsibilities
- Prepare technical specifications and tender documents for HVDC converters and FACTS devices
- Evaluate bids, perform design reviews and witness factory and onsite commissioning tests
- Conduct HVDC / FACTS studies and apply them to complex power systems
- Collaborate with clients, project managers and multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality solutions
- Mentor junior engineers and represent BBA in technical committees and industry groups
- Support business development through proposal preparation and presentations

Bachelor’s, Master’s or Ph.D. in electrical engineeringP.Eng. designation or eligibility for registrationAt least 15 years of industry experience, including 10+ years in HVDC / FACTSExpertise in HVDC / FACTS design, equipment and testingExperience in serving as an Owner’s Engineer for HVDC / FACTS projectsExperience preparing technical documents and proposalsStrong communication and critical thinking skillsAbility to travel within Canada, the USA and internationally for short-term assignmentsProject management knowledge (scoping, planning, estimating)Experience with power system simulation tools (PSCAD, PSSE, RTDS)Familiarity with electrical protection and control systemsKnowledge of IEEE, NEC or IEC standardsAn Overview Of BBA’s Total Rewards
